About: As a senior at Juniata College, I was able to take on an incredible project: Making an educational video about Northern Map Turtles.
With the help of professors Ryan Gibboney and Roy Nagle, I led this project from pre-production to delivery. I was able to go on site b-roll, and I wrote a script for the video’s narration. I also challenged myself to learn a little bit of Adobe After Effects.

About: I achieved multiple promotional trailers and videos for The Rude Mechanicals by understanding the organization’s mission to enhance, educate, elevate, and entertain the surrounding community and beyond. I captured interview and b-roll footage, all within strict deadlines. I organized footage, music, and asset files, and I shared finished deliverables across social media to promote theatre productions
I was also an actress at the Rude Mechanicals in productions such as, The Comedy of Errors as Dromio of Ephesus, Macbeth as a Witch, and The Tempest as Iris.

What’s the story?: Filmed during a day in early March, around 1:00pm, (before stay-at-home orders were in place) and it was finally sunny and warm. We had been waiting for a day like this. Hayley and Laura swung their skates over their shoulders, I grabbed my camera, and we all walked up to the Juniata tennis courts.

You’re Just Fine is a short film I wrote, directed, and shot for an end-of-the-semester project in my Digital Video Production class. I wanted to create dynamic lighting by creating colored gels out of transparent folders.

Black Sheep was my first short film. Written and directed by Hayley Purvis and me, it’s the story of two friends who rob a string of gas stations before settling down in a field in the middle of nowhere.
Cinematography by Ethan Shotz.
It won the Double Excellent 2nd Place Award at the Washington State Thespian Festival in 2014.
Filmed in the summer of 2019.
Some b-roll I captured for a project to show my camera and editing skills. I wanted the footage to be warm and the music to be nostalgic.
Filmmaking in the midst of a pandemic. Due to the coronavirus getting worse, many students were leaving or had already left campus, and I was going stir-crazy. Since there was nobody on my floor, I decided to film and edit this short video.
I wanted to capture anything that would make a compelling shot. It was interesting because I had never previously thought about filming in that building - never saw the beauty in it before? Regardless, I found it a fun project. It kept my mind busy.
